Cabo Roig is a lively area of the Orihuela Costa very popular with both British and Irish expats and holidaymakers. It comprises a coastal residential area with properties on either side of the main Cabo Roig Beach that share a spattering of bars and restaurants, a Consum Supermarket and medical centre. Its residential area continues on the inland side of the N-332 dual carriageway where there is a further small choice of bars and restaurants and a park. The biggest draw to Cabo Roig however is its lovely beaches and lively ‘Strip'.
Cabo Roig Beach
The coastal area is just a short walk from the strip and has a main sandy beach next to its small marina. Here visitors can enjoy good facilities and a selection of bars and restaurants. Various water sports are also available including the popular new activity, Fly Boarding. A headland and residential area separate the main beach from the other popular beach in the area, Cala Capitán. All around the headland are rocky coves and reefs ideal for snorkelling.
Cabo Roig Strip
Lively both day and night, the strip lies on both sides of the N-332 dual carriageway. The beach side of the strip is the most popular and boasts a larger amount of shops and entertainment venues. Access to both sides of the strip is via two overhead walkways at each end. Probably the most well known beach side establishment is Bushwacka Bar & Restaurant that serves excellent food at great value prices and an extensive range of drinks and cocktails. This place really gets rocking at night with regular live entertainment, DJ's and theme and foam parties.
Also popular along the strip are Smiling Jacks, The Bog Road, Trinity Irish Bar, The Cause Pub, and restaurants such as Shakira Indian, Beef or Salmon Grill and Ko Samui Thai Restaurant. There are also a variety of shops, supermarket, pharmacy, ice cream parlour and ATM's. The most popular venue on the inland side of the strip is the Wok Buffet Asia Garden. This is an ‘all you can eat' establishment that includes a good choice of seafood, all for less than 10€ for adults and cheaper for children. The selection of ‘Adult Clubs' here are popular with Stag do's.
