Mil Palmeras

For a little seaside town, there is a great selection of bars and restaurants in Mil Palmeras. Located on the southern border of Orihuela Costa, the town is popular with both Spanish and foreign holidaymakers. It also has its fair share of expat residents seeking the peaceful life. Easily reached via the N-332, Mil Palmeras boasts a Blue Flag Award, fine sandy beach. It's a great place to visit in high season when the more popular areas of Orihuela Costa are packed. Most of the bars and restaurants in Mil Palmeras are handily located close to the beach.

Bars and Restaurants in Mil Palmeras

The town's beaches are wide, with plenty of nearby parking and great facilities. Directly on the beach visitors will find a few lively chiringuitos (beach bars). Chiringuito Pirata is popular and the busy staff keep the drinks flowing. They do a great jug of sangria, wonderful cocktails and a good selection of snack meals and tapas. The fish and seafood is popular and always fresh. During the peak summer months Pirata often have a local DJ entertaining the crowds.

Chiringuito Popeye and Rianxeira sit close to each other and are perfect to relax on the terrace and check out the sea views. Try Rianxeira if visiting on a Thursday for their special 1€ plate of paella. Popeye is open all year round and is a local institute in the town. Good value, tasty food and a great selection of ice cold drinks have visitors returning year after year. A short stroll south of the town is El Rincon de la Cala. Although set slightly back from the beach, there are still good sea views. The staff here are very friendly and seem to love having children around.

Bars and Restaurants in Mil Palmeras Town

Just behind the beach is a lively strip of bars and restaurants with Discoteca Imagine at the far end. Walking along the strip with children, they will soon pull you into the very popular Vaiven Cafe Bar & Heladeria (ice cream parlour). Good food, cold drinks and of course tasty ice creams makes this place a family favourite. Restaurante Los Celtas is a good choice for pizza, grilled meats, seafood and specialities such as roast goat.

Pizzeria Passarella has a great atmosphere with most diners choosing to eat al fresco on the lovely terrace. Pizzas with rich toppings are a favourite choice, although they also offer a varied daily menu. Heading further into town you will find Restaurante Olympia near the cute little whitewashed church. Here you will find extensive gardens and a swimming pool. Perfect to enjoy an hour or two over drinks and a meal, and take a refreshing dip.

Los Altos

The bars and restaurants in Los Altos are located in two commercial centres. The residential area of Los Altos sits atop a hill with commanding views of Torrevieja salt lake. It's divided from neighbouring La Florida by Calle Panticosa.
