Alicante International Airport

Alicante International Airport is less than an hour's drive from the majority of Orihuela Costa. Travelling to and from the airport is easy and stress free via the AP-7 motorway or the N-332 coastal road. Visitors staying further inland may find it easier to use the A-7 motorway. Those without access to a vehicle and wishing to avoid the costly taxi fare will find an efficient bus service to the airport from neighbouring Torrevieja. The bus is very reasonably priced and takes less than an hour. There are eight non stop round trips per day, 365 days per year.

Alicante International Airport Facilities

Also referred to as Alicante-Elche Airport due to it being part of the municipality of Elche, it is located slightly south of the city. The terminal buildings are clean and modern with excellent services and facilities. Disability access is found throughout the public and passenger zones. Assistance for those with disabilities is available when giving 48 hours notice. The ample ablutions throughout the airport are spacious, cleaned regularly and have disabled cubicles.

Both public and passenger zones have comfortable seating areas and children can enjoy a fun play area. Passengers will find handy information points and a lost luggage desk. Professional first aid is on hand, as are Guardia Civil and security personnel. Business passengers can arrange use of meeting rooms. Free WiFi is available throughout the airport and there is currency exchange, ATM's, vending machines and a baggage wrapping machine.

Once through check in, passengers holding a business class ticket from associated airlines, associated club card or paying at reception can enjoy the excellent facilities of the Sala Ifach VIP Lounge. Also available for a fee is the Heaven on Earth luxurious spa & wellness centre.

Alicante International Airport Shops & Restaurants

Within the public areas passengers and visitors can enjoy several shops and restaurants. Just outside the terminal is a handy tobacconist. Within the terminal The Market stocks a wide range of products similar to what you would find in a small supermarket. Relay offers a large selection of newspapers, magazines, and general stationery, and there is also a pharmacy. Public area restaurants include Burger King, Saboramar Gastro Bar, Kiosko Farggi, Caffricco, Ars- Rodilla and the all important Costa Coffee.

Once through check-in and customs, passengers can browse further shops and restaurants. A Duty Free shop can be found on both levels. There is also a handy WH Smith, LOL Kids and LOL Sweets. Further consumables are offered in Petra Mora. Fashion & accessory boutiques include Sunglass Hut, Parfois, Victoria's Secret, Trucco, Weekend, The Fashion Place, Superskunk, Swarovski, Encanto Alicante and Desigual.

A good choice of food and drink is offered in the passenger zones. These include Burger King, Farggi, La Pausa, Carlsberg Pub, Cañas y Tapas, deCanto, Starbucks, The Air Food Court, Valor Chocolates, Subway and Il Caffé di Roma.

Alicante International Airport Services

Within the terminal buildings are a good selection of national and international car hire companies. These also include AeroCity-Ares Móbile chauffeur driven vehicles. Radio Taxi Elche have an information desk in the arrivals hall. Alternately just flag one down outside the terminal doors. Also just outside the terminal are a number of buses. There are regular buses into Alicante City as well as coaches to many of the other towns and cities on the Costa Blanca.

Alicante International Airport has a large general car park a few metres from the terminal doors. They also offer a long term car park, first class car park and express car parking.

Alicante Airport Bus Service

The Alicante Airport bus service is very handy for visitors to Orihuela Costa. The area is also served by the smaller Murcia-San Javier Airport. This however has absolutely no bus service.
