The wonderful Blue Flag Award La Zenia Beach is home to several places to enjoy food and drink. Directly on the beach is a lively beach bar (Chiringuito). Their strong cocktails are very popular. All sorts of other soft and alcoholic drinks as well as a choice of snack meals are also available. Overlooking the beach is Hotel Servigroup La Zenia. Here beach goers can escape the heat for a while and enjoy drinks, snacks and main dishes, and a cooling dip in the pool.

Central Bars and Restaurants

On the way up from the beach visitors can stop for refreshments in several establishments. Along Av. de la Playa is the Cambridge Pub and ArteSano Cafe. Running parallel to this is Calle San Antonio Zen. Here, a warm welcome and great food awaits in Indigo Indian Restaurant. Next to this is Al & Benny's which is an American style diner serving generous portions.

At the busy roundabout is another good choice of bars and restaurants in La Zenia. Here you will find one of Orihuela Costa's legendary establishments, Paddy's Point. A heart stopping full Irish breakfast sets you up for the day. Pints of Guinness flow like water and the friendly staff and customers provide the ‘craic'. Next door Gogarty's offer further Irish fare, and the popular chain restaurant Fresco do excellent sandwiches, snacks, shakes and the best kebab in town. Several other bars complete the little square and two Chinese restaurants offer huge menus.

On the other side of the road from the square, Alejandro's Bar is always packed with a faithful following of German and Scandinavian customers. A little further up this road there are two small commercial centres on either side of the roundabout. Both offer several shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A frustrating aspect of Orihuela Costa for smokers is the complete lack of tobacconists. So, here's a handy hint. At the centre on the right of the roundabout, above Mercadona is Take A Break. Here you can buy pouches of tobacco and cartons of cigarettes.
