Los Balcones

Los Balcones is in fact a residential area of Torrevieja that borders Orihuela Costa. With a regular and efficient bus service between the two, it has a high number of Spanish residents. Due to this fact, visitors to the area will find several pleasant little tapas bars. Here you can practice your Spanish while enjoying a few of these tasty treats along with an ice cold beer or glass of wine. Property and rental prices in the area are relatively low and Los Balcones boasts one of the only hotels in the area, the modern and stylish Doña Monse.

Los Balcones Attractions

Los Balcones is a very family friendly area where lots of fun and fresh air can be enjoyed. The Torrevieja salt lake and natural park are within walking distance for many residents. Here you will find picturesque nature trails among the interesting flora & fauna. Those who fancy a dip in the lake will find, due to the high salinity you float and bob about, similar to the Dead Sea.

On the opposite side of the lake is Meson Villa Salada. This is a wonderful place for a family night out where visitors can enjoy a great meal accompanied by an equestrian and flamenco show. The villa also has stables and a riding school that offers a choice of horseback treks around the lake and riding lessons for most age groups.

Behind the large Mercadona Supermarket is the lively Filton Centre. This is a really friendly place filled with buzzing bars and restaurants. Spanish and British residents enjoy drinks together while their children put them to shame, fluently chatting away in both Spanish and English. Many of the children go to school together and just up from the centre is an excellent recreational park with all sorts of sports courts, picnic areas and even a doggy park.
