San Miguel

Visiting the bars and restaurants in San Miguel is an absolute pleasure. This charming little village, due to its close proximity is often regarded as a satellite town of Orihuela Costa. It has a panoramic setting on a hill above Torrevieja salt lake and is a popular accommodation choice with Spanish residents working in the city. There is also a charming outdoor courtyard for dining under the stars. The Spanish ladies that run it are equally as charming and often serenade customers with beautiful folk songs. They serve well presented and delicious meals and boast an extensive wine menu. They also run La Cueva de Tia Ramblera tapas bar located on Calle la Cenia.

Further great value and tasty tapas can be enjoyed at Mesón Rincón de Paco. Located at the end of Calle Almoradí, the prompt and friendly service, and excellent selection of tapas here has customers returning each year. Restaurante Doña Isabel is another establishment with superb prices. A five course set lunch menu for under 10€ can't be beaten. Located on Calle Ruiz Caracena, customers can also enjoy a pricier set dinner menu and full selection of drinks.

Waffle House is a family run American style diner located on Calle Tomás Pérez Castaño. Aside from their selection of sweet and savoury waffles they offer all day breakfasts. Casa Antonio is a family favourite with a large following of British expats. Their pizzas receive rave reviews, tapas are tasty and plentiful, and chef's specials such as baked octopus and oxtail croquettes are sublime. Finally, for a taste of Ireland head to O'Neil's Pub on Ronda Oeste.
