There are several bars and restaurants in Villamartin scattered around the centrally located plaza. Due to its popularity we have already covered the Villamartin Plaza in a separate article. We have also written a separate article for neighbouring La Fuente Commercial Centre. Due to its size, the bars and restaurants in Villamartin cover quite a large area. We hope this article will be of interest to visitors not staying close to either of the commercial centres.

Bars and Restaurants in Villamartin

Skirting the golf course is Calle Richard Wagner with the popular Captain Morgan's Bar at the end of this road. The bar's decor is bright and cheerful with two outdoor terraces and a small car park. Owner Jane does a great job ensuring the menu and entertainment is regularly updated. Varied meal deals and a good selection of drinks keeps the clientele happy.

A steep little slip road behind Captain's takes you to Bar Establo. This has more of a Spanish feel and their steaks receive rave reviews. Further up Av. del Nido is Cheers Bar. This friendly place offers large seating areas both indoors and out. Full English breakfast and Sunday roast are highlights at Cheers and it's handy if you're visiting the nearby lawn bowls club. Those who enjoy Greek food should head for Georgio's Cafe Bar on Calle Jabugo behind the school.

Opposite Captain Morgan's is Calle el Escorial that takes you all the way to La Fuente Centre. If you happen to be walking this road there are several options to stop for refreshments. Being roughly in the middle of the two commercial centres, Pint Depot is usually quiet but a great place to stop for, you guessed it a pint 🙂

Further along this road are several shops, bars and restaurants all grouped together. A warm welcome is always assured at Summers Bar. This is a family friendly place popular with the local British expats. There is a fun children's play area, regular sports and music, and local league pool. Another firm favourite with the locals is Priory Bar. This is a friendly little Irish pub with a sunny terrace, regular live entertainment and a great selection of food and drink.

Next door to Priory Bar is a British favourite, India Garden. Here you will find the usual serving of no nonsense, fill your tummy curries. All tastes are catered for from mild korma to spicy vindaloo, accompanied by fresh sambals and Indian breads. More popular with young palates is Asia Sol. Great service, reasonable prices and a large varied menu keeps diners happy.

A Business Opportunity

Continuing down the hill, Royal Oak does a slap up Sunday roast and kids can enjoy the bouncy castle. Next door to this, Maritao's Kitchen II offers both Chinese and Thai cuisine. That just about wraps up the bars and restaurants in Villamartin. Worth a mention to any entrepreneurs out there looking to start a business. The vast residential area in the hills and valleys between the Villamartin Plaza and Los Altos in the distance lacks even a single shop, bar or restaurant!

San Miguel

Visiting the bars and restaurants in San Miguel is an absolute pleasure. This charming little village, due to its close proximity is often regarded as a satellite town of Orihuela Costa.
