Mil Palmeras Beach

Mil Palmeras Beach (Thousand Palms Beach) lies in the south of Orihuela Costa. The village and resort of Mil Palmeras is located on the banks of the River Seco and is easily accessed by the N-332 dual carriageway. Less than 30 minutes drive south is Murcia-San Javier Airport which services a number of budget airlines from Britain and Europe. The main Mil Palmeras Beach is directly in front of the village centre and boasts fine wide sands, disabled access, lifeguards during the summer months, sun loungers, parasols, beach sports and a nearby children's playground. On either side of the river estuary are a selection of popular beach bars (chiringuitos) with fun names such as Pirate and Popeye Bar.

Here bathers can enjoy a good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks, cocktails and a selection of snacks. Children can play on paddle boats and a little floating adventure playground and the older visitor looking for adventure will find a selection of water sports and activities.

Behind Popeye Bar is the small village square and what locals refer to as Restaurant Alley. The choice of eateries here include, fish and seafood, pizza, paella, Greek and a selection of tapas bars. There is also a cafe bar offering a choice of ice creams and the small Discoteca Imagine for visitors who wish to kick up their heels until the early hours.
