Shopping and Entertainment
Many of the shopping and entertainment outlets and venues in Orihuela Costa are located within commercial centres. These are found throughout the various residential areas. They are similar to shopping malls, although some house large supermarkets and petrol stations too. Playa Flamenca is home to the most commercial centres and La Zenia boasts the largest shopping complex in the Alicante Province. There is also a good choice of individual shops, supermarkets, Chino stores and hundreds of bars and restaurants offering entertainment.
The nicest feature of Orihuela Costa's commercial centres is having the chance to enjoy both shopping and entertainment under one roof. Most of the centres also offer a supermarket. The largest of these is Al Campo in the Zenia Boulevard. Neighbouring Torrevieja also has a huge Carrefour Hypermarket next to the Habaneras Centre. Entertainment comes in all forms. Some commercial centres have fun children's playgrounds or mini adventure parks. Others feature cinema complexes, bowling alleys, casinos and live bands, shows and cabaret acts.
Smaller Commercial Centres
Some of the smaller commercial centres in Orihuela Costa basically house a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Los Dolses Commercial Centre is one of the smallest with a few shops, bars, restaurants, a cafe and Dialprix Supermarket. Filton Centre in Los Balcones is a bit bigger and has a lovely sports park and playground nearby. La Fuente Centre is a sprawling affair with some great shopping and entertainment on certain nights. Punta Marina Commercial Centre houses the popular Captains Table Restaurant and a McDonald's. Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre is very popular, with some of the best bars and restaurants in Orihuela Costa.
Visitors to Zenia Boulevard are in for a treat. Being the largest shopping complex in Alicante Province, it's possible to spend an entire day here. The shopping and entertainment outlets and venues are superb, with many popular high street brand stores. Throughout the complex are comfortable seating areas and cooling mist jets to refresh shoppers. Children love the boulevard, and indeed it's hard to drag them away. A mini adventure park has loads of fun rides and games. Families can enjoy 10 pin bowling and a cinema complex. Hungry visitors will find a great selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, and adults can have a flutter in the casino.
Villamartin Plaza is located opposite the area's championship 18 hole golf course. People come from far and wide to enjoy the shopping and entertainment at the plaza. Its central courtyard is very pretty with lovely trees, plants and water features. This is also where they set up the stage for regular live bands and shows. Shops, bars and restaurants are on two levels looking over the courtyard. There is a handy post room, small supermarket and several hairdressers and banks. Visitors will also find and a few commercial businesses and estate agents.
Although located in neighbouring Torrevieja, Habaneras Centre is well worth a visit. This place takes shopping and entertainment to a new level. The reason for this is the centre's fantastic location. Make the 15 minute drive, or take a bus and spend the day enjoying a bit of shopping and the nearby attractions. Across the road from the centre is a multi screen cinema complex. There is also Ozone Bowling, Skyzone Trampoline Centre and popular takeaways like KFC and Burger King. Within walking distance form the centre is Aquopolis Water Park and Torrevieja Sports City. Habaneras Centre offers great stores, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Dos Mares Commercial Centre
Dos Mares is located just off the N-332 between San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar. The layout, shopping and entertainment on offer at the centre is very similar to Habaneras. A good variety of shops and boutiques include several popular high street brands. Neocine Complex has 8 cinema screens and Five2U offers exciting 5D movies. Pleno Bowling Complex boasts several 10 pin bowling lanes and an arcade area with games, table football and billiards. Cafes and restaurants keep shoppers fed and refreshed, and there is a well stocked hypermarket.
